"So We Have the Books" - A Short Story 🤣

So sometime in the second quarter of 2022, we placed our order with our printer for the TEN THOUSAND Mother of Learning: ARC 1 books, with three specific shipping requests:
1) Have the shipping company call ahead to schedule. It's a big shipment.
2) The truck needs a lift gate (the platform that goes up and down on the end of a truck). We don't have a dock.
3) We need a pallet jack (the thing that goes under pallets of products so you can move them).
On Oct 8th we were told the books are on their way! Great! The printer did everything perfectly, we got the proofs and they were great, and everything we listed above was confirmed as being a part of the shipping cost. We wait for the call to schedule the delivery.
We get a call. Monday... At 9:30pm at night.
"I'm here to deliver your shipment"
I'm sorry... wut?
So yeah. Not only did the shipping company NOT call ahead, they tried to deliver at 9:30 at night. Not happening. We tell them to come back tomorrow morning, and ask to make sure they have the lift gate and pallet jack.
"No. We were told you would have a forklift."
Again: I'm sorry... wut?
No. We do not have a forklift. So in summary, the shipper did not call ahead, tried to deliver at 9:30 at night, did not have a lift gate, and did not have a pallet jacket.
It was a f*cking nightmare.
So what did we do? Did we hire a small army to meet us at the storage unit at 8am? Did we then spend an ENTIRE morning HAND UNLOADING TEN THOUSAND BOOKS FROM A RAISED TRUCK? Are we all still VERY SORE?
You bet your ass we did. And you bet your ass we are 😅
So in short: we have your books. They are coming to you all starting in November, most likely. And we sweat for these books, so we really hope you like them bahahaha
Oh AND the driver, after we unloaded everything, found out we were creating fantasy novels with magic and told us we were all gonna go to hell if we didn't "leave the scene" and "repent" 🤣🤣🤣
